Are you an experienced amateur actor on the look out for a new challenge? Or have you never acted before but find the idea appealing? Alsager Community Theatre is looking for new talent to take part in its annual outdoor summer production, which takes place in the beautiful courtyard of Little Moreton Hall in July 2019 (or in a marquee there if the weather is unhelpful!).
This year's production is a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice, and open auditions are taking place in early February.
Most people are familiar with Jane Austen’s delightful and witty story of Mr and Mrs Bennett’s five daughters and their adventures in the marriage market; a tale of love, sex and money. There are lots of fabulous roles for all ages, many of them very humorous, and of course the cast includes two of the most famous characters in English Literature, those sparring and reluctant lovers Miss Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Director Eileen Venables will be holding auditions at Alsager Library on Wednesday 6th February and Monday 11th February at 7.45pm, and everyone is welcome to attend. Rehearsals will begin in April and will generally be on Mondays and Wednesdays in Alsager Library. For more information, or if you are interested but cannot make those audition dates, please contact Eileen on 07970 875736.
