Packed in like Sardines! Showtunes and epic numbers were enjoyed, sung-along with and danced to at SingEasy.

It's takes a lot to drag me out these days but as soon as SingEasy's launch invite arrived, I was desperate to go.

  • Food - check
  • Cocktails - check
  • Singing - check
  • Dancing - check

An intimate venue nestled in Piano Works expansive subterranean lair (just off Leicester Square), the venue's strapline is 'London's number one sing-along party and dining experience.' After sizing up the entertainment and food this week, it's pretty hard to argue with that.

Sumptuous red velvet swathes the walls, as theatre posters nestle cosily across the ceiling. My only gripe is the weirdly sized steps and slopes (too small to notice but tall enough to trip you up) that caught me unawares a few times. Nothing to do with the Pornstar Martinis. Honest!

Apart from a few misplaced footings, this was the best night out I have had in years. I love eating out, I love musical theatre, I love dancing. Combining the three is entertainment kryptonite. Probably the liveliest table of the evening, the ingenious requests system make this an evening apart. You get delicious food, moreish cocktails AND entertained by a live pianist and bevy of talented singing waiting staff. AND you get to choose the songs that are played. Then join in with as much gusto as you can muster.

This is definitely the way forward for an entertaining night out. It's classy karaoke, without being shoehorned into a booth and fighting for the mic. You can dance as much or little as you like, but you always have a seat. And you get to belt out all those West End crackers that normally have you singing into your hairbrush. Whilst anything can be requested, show tunes and power ballads do go down exceedingly well.

The evenings have various hosts, all West End or music stars of some sort. You might recognise a few of them, you might even spot a potential future Olivier Award winner. You will definitely have the best night out.
