A New Concept in Publishing for the Amateur Theatre
“God’s teeth! Another rejection letter. Methinks I’ll just jack it in” might well have been the reaction of Shakespeare if he had been in receipt of the negative, unqualified and unstructured criticism dished out to some of our authors. Perhaps you, too, have experienced problems getting a play published or finding new works to perform.
Amateur writers often struggle to get their work out to the wider world and producers can find it hard to quickly and easily identify new plays.
Apart from refusing to publish material that is racist, xenophobic or in any other way considered to be in bad taste, we will publish and we will warn of content that might offend the sensibilities of certain elements or groups by the use of symbols.
To save producers the trouble and expense of finding plays to perform we have enhanced the process of identifying suitable plays so they are able to peruse online any play in it’s entirety for free.
Playwrights and Players has been established by enthusiasts who are experienced in both the worlds of amateur dramatics and publishing and who are fully aware of the obstacles many authors and producers encounter.
