British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) the leading music theatre company for young people is offering a range of job opportunities.
Firstly, the company is looking for caring and organised people, over 21, to join its pastoral team and work at the residential musical theatre courses throughout the summer.
As a member of BYMT’s pastoral team you will be a key person to whom young people look up to for guidance, protection, clarification and support. Applicants need to be available for at least one week of the summer.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but BYMT is looking to fill positions for this summer as soon as possible.
Secondly, a dynamic Creative Communities Manager is sought to join the team in South East London. This is a new role to lead the Access to the Arts initiative: a fully-funded pathway to improve access to theatre arts for underrepresented groups, from initial engagement through to professional-level experience.
It’s an opportunity for someone with experience in music or drama education, youth work or the charitable sector to make the role their own and bring fresh ideas to the project and the organisation.
They’ll develop partnerships with schools, colleges and community organisations across the UK, in areas of social and economic deprivation and/or working with specialist groups (at risk, disabled, BAME, etc.).

Anybody aged 16-24 who is maybe looking to kickstart a career can apply for a new role, created to provide additional support to BYMT’s production department.
The ‘Production Assistant’ will support the Associate Producer and Admissions Manager in their work to ensure the delivery of BYMT’s main artistic programme, including up to fifteen new theatre productions and residential courses.
The company is looking for somebody who is helpful and keen to learn. Someone who wants to work in production; theatre, music, tv, film.
People who are creative in some way, with good communication skills and an eye for detail, would do well in this role. The right candidate could go on to a job in the theatre industry or transfer the experience to other roles in production, such as in TV, film or music.
This 6-month, fixed-term Kickstart opportunity is for applicants aged between 16-24 and who are currently unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.
