IT’S Pantomime season already and Poole and Parkstone Productions have started us off with an interesting rendition of Aladdin.
On the first night there were one or two technical difficulties but the cast worked through them in professional fashion. At times the sound was so loud the singers could not be heard but when they could they were very good.
There were two lovely performances from Dawn Goodwin (Aladdin) and Jenine Clark (Princess Jasmine) also Liam Jefford as Wishee Washee and Clare Hunt as the Slave of the Ring made their mark.
All the young players were excellent and it was nice to see them enjoying performing. I thought the four Genies (Mark Everitt, Paul Root, Ray Adnett and Phil Gibbs) gave their all with some very funny moments. I also liked Dale Gregory as So Phit.
The costumes and the choreography certainly enhanced the whole show.
However the outstanding part of the evening for me was James Stead on Guitar singing ‘Let me entertain you’ and he most definitely did in every way. His musical arrangements were also spot on.
