Mysterious and kooky… The Addams Family!
The much-loved kooky Addams Family are back in town bringing comedy, love and quirkiness to Wimbledon as the tour goes on!
Taking their seats, the audience are immediately greeted with the towering gates of The Addams Family mansion on stage and eagerly await the iconic ‘clicks’ to signal the start of the show. And the Addams Family certainly offers more than One Normal Night !
Kingsley Morton impresses, particularly in Pulled, with a powerful belt and impressive range as she depicts teenager-in-love, Wednesday Addams. Despite her tough exterior where she delights in torturing younger brother Pugsley, Morton shows Wednesday to be somewhat endearing and we warm to her softer side as she falls in love with Lucas Beineke, a young man from a respectable family.
Hopeless romantic Uncle Fester is played by Scott Paige and he entertains from beginning to end with perfectly timed comedic moments, narrating the story and guiding the ‘dead’ to help Lucas win back Wednesday. Paige’s rendition of ‘The Moon and Me’ is charming and whilst Uncle Fester’s striped all-in-one swimsuit is certainly comical, his innocence and love of love receives much deserved cheers and applause.
Kara Lane plays sweet Alice Beineke, who speaks in rhyme and appears to be the perfect wife and mother on appearance. However, when she mistakenly drinks some of Grandma’s potion, Alice’s true self takes the evening in a whole new direction! Once again, we are dazzled by impressive vocals and Lane certainly hits some belters!
The hardworking ensemble cannot go un-mentioned in this production! Portraying the Addams family’s dead ancestors, they are ever present throughout the show, dancing the ballet to the tango, moving set and producing a powerful sound with superb harmonies.
The Addams Family continues its UK tour until June 2022 – catch them whilst you can!
