“Love or Knowledge: which would you choose?”
It’s 1896, and at Girton College Cambridge, the first in Britain to admit women, the female students are studying furiously to match their male counterparts. But whilst the boys go home with degrees and fine prospects, the girls are denied the right to graduate and go home unmarriageable.
“Degrees for women!”
In “Blue Stockings”, we follow the “Girton Girls” as they battle against entrenched opinions, class divides — and the distractions of love.
Will they win the battle and change the future of education?
