Flare Path

Originally scheduled for March 2020, this show was postponed just before the first lockdown and we are now delighted to finally bring this play to Whitstable.

Flare Path opens a window into life in wartime Britain for RAF bomber crews and their wives and sweethearts. Set in 1942 against a backdrop of heartache, loss and quiet heroism and based on Rattigan’s own experiences as a tail gunner, the story entwines the lives of three couples from very different walks of life, thrown together in both the fear and camaraderie of war.

The arrival of a former lover and an unexpected night raid cause all to question their loyalty, duty and very futures, as the fragility of life and love are exposed.
