It is set in 1942 at a country hotel near an airfield. Teddy a young RAF pilot, celebrates his reunion with his actress wife, Patricia. The background noise is of BBC announcements, dance music, bombers, and the odd explosion throughout Acts 1 and 2. Despite its theme of war and danger, it is not a morbid or miserable play. It has many light and comic moments, and the characters are well defined and often amusing. “Flare Path” is a story of love and loyalty, courage and fear.
