After the disappointment of having to cancel their November production, Stafford Players are delighted to bring it to the stage in February.

Over a period of 11 years, the two most powerful women in Britain meet regularly.

In this sharply funny and feisty play, Moira Buffini imagines what might have happened when Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher were face to face in private. Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Denis Thatcher and many other political glitterati provide the supporting cast.

The cast consists of 4 women and 2 men. The ladies provide not one but two Margaret Thatchers and two versions of the Queen, through the ages. The men take on the plethora of other roles. Can anyone guess who has the honour of playing Nancy Reagan? However, neither want to portray Enoch Powell; notorious for his “Rivers of Blood” speech!

The cast includes the familiar faces of Keith Minshull, David Harfield, Clare Watson and Jo Bradley. Gill Broadbent makes a welcome return after a few years break. The play sees the Stafford Players’ debut of young Cara Cox. The production is ably directed by the experienced Denise Arthur.

This highly entertaining work will make you look afresh at the people who lead us!

Tickets are £12 (Concessions £11) from the Box Office 01785 616080 or online at www.staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk
