Sunshine on Leith

How many miles would you walk for the people and places you love? Sedos presents the first London production of the revised version of Sunshine on Leith at the Bridewell Theatre this May. Originally a stage musical before being transformed into the 2013 feature film adaptation, this jubilant, heartfelt show, featuring the songs of The Proclaimers, plays a strictly limited run from 10-20 May 2023.

Sunshine on Leith follows the highs and lows of friends Davy and Ally as they search for normality after returning from a tour in Afghanistan. Families, friendships and life are not all plain sailing in this funny and moving story about love and life.

Director Sorrel Brown states: “The whole Sunshine team are absolutely thrilled to be bringing this wonderful show to the Bridewell! The show’s themes of family, community and identity are more important than ever, as are the lessons and politics addressed in the fantastic songs of The Proclaimers, so it is extremely exciting to be showcasing such a relevant and uplifting Scottish musical for audiences south of the border.
