Romance and Riots

An evening of original drama

Day of the Rope
            by Jane Quill
At the seat of the American government, The Capitol Building in Washington DC, representatives are gathered to certify the result of the 2020 US Presidential election. At the same time, the current President, Trump, is speaking at a ‘Save America’ rally, having refused to accept the results.

Henry VIII on Blind Date
            by Kaiser Siddiqui
Having lost his third wife, King Henry VIII is at a loss on how to find his 4th wife. Having lost trust in his advisors and with his patience running low, he decides to apply to Blind Date to try and find himself a wife…

The Importance of Being Brief
distilled from Oscar Wilde’s original by Thomas Cobb
The Importance of Being Earnest compressed into a one-act play, with a few twists. In 1890s London, two friends use the same pseudonym for their on-the-sly activities, with hilarious consequences. Brevity is the soul of wit.

Performances will take place at the Church of the Ascension Hall in Beaufort Road, Ealing W5 3EB (Map) on:

  • Thursday 25th November at 8pm
  • Friday 26th November at 8pm
  • Saturday 27th November at 7pm
PLEASE NOTE: Day of the Rope is a dramatic retelling of the events of the US Capitol attack on 6 January 2021, based on original testimony.
