CINDERS The Cinderella Story

CINDERS The Cinderella Story

Fill up those gloomy days between Christmas and New Year and come along  to see our Cloud Nine family pantomime which this year is “Cinders – The Cinderella Story”, written once again by our own Rebecca Townsend.

This pantomime is fast moving and full of fun, with songs that you know and love, performed by our amazingly talented cast who will sing and dance their way through this brilliant family show. Enjoy the story of Cinderella and how she meets her Prince Charming and boo those outrageous Ugly Sisters and Cinders’ wicked Stepmother. We are delighted this year to be joined by members of the Chris Williams Dance School who will add their own sparkle to this incredible pantomime.

Shows are twice daily at 2.30pm and 7pm on Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 December at The Academy Selsey, School Lane, PO20 9EH. Tickets: Adults £10 and Children/OAP’s £8 are available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/cloud9 or from Sue at The Box Office (cash or cheque only) – Tel. 01243 607957.

Matilda JR

Matilda JR

Adapted from the full-length musical which was based on the book by Roald Dahl, the show features a book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence… and special powers! She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupil’s saving grace! Glow Theatre Group are performing Matilda JR on 02 – 04 December at 7pm and with a matinee on Saturday 04 December at 2pm. Tickets cost £10 (this includes the Ticketsource booking fee) and are available at www.barntheatreoxted.co.uk

Big Fish

Big Fish

Edward Bloom has lived a full and fantastical life, populated by witches, giants, and mermaids, marked by true love that stops time in its tracks, and framed by heroics that push the limits of believability. His adult son, Will, is no longer amused by his father’s fantastical tales, insisting on a rational rather than a fantastical account of one’s life. When Edward’s health declines, and Will learns that he and his wife, Josephine, will have a son of their own, Will decides to find out his father’s “true” life story, once and for all. Big Fish is a heartfelt, powerful, and truly magical musical about fathers, sons, and the stories that we use to define our identities. With spine-tinglingly beautiful music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and a funny, heartwarming book by John August, Big Fish is a magnificent “big fish” of a tale, itself — spectacular, fantastical, and overflowing with love. Glow Theatre Group are performing Big Fish on 07 – 10 December at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 (this includes the Ticketsource booking fee) and are available from www.barntheatreoxted.co.uk
