The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband

The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband

Hilary and Kenneth have been married for nearly 20 years.  As middle-age approaches, Kenneth finds himself in the arms of another woman.  At first, Laura embodies all that is missing from his married life but Kenneth’s fling gets desperately out of hand and his world spirals into deceit and lies.  Finally he is forced to leave Hilary.  The only problem is that Laura can’t cook and Kenneth mourns the loss of his Sunday roasts.  He sneaks back to Hilary’s house for her culinary delights.  When Hilary invites them both for dinner, Kenneth has no idea what delicacies Hilary has planned …

This is not your usual play.  It is very unusual.  It is funny, quirky, dark and shocking – a story of revenge and greed.  A wife is rejected and scorned, a mistress is belittled, and a husband just wants his cake and eat it.  Played out against an Elvis soundscape – with beehives, brothel creepers and jiving – the play will be performed cabaret-style (audience sat at tables) and the actors will engage with the audience in the plotting and final revenge.
