We Found Love and an Exquisite Set of Porcelain Figurines Aboard the SS Farndale Avenue

Dragon Theatre Company’s June production is the wonderfully madcap ‘We Found Love and an Exquisite Set of Porcelain Figures Aboard the SS Farndale Avenue’ by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jnr.

The ladies of Farndale Avenue Townswomen’s Guild feature in a series of delightful plays that preceded the likes of ‘Peter Pan Goes Wrong’ and ‘The Gone Wrong Show’, and have proved time and again that their determination will not be thwarted by the disintegration of costumes, sets and, occasionally, memory.

Flushed by their previous successes, the stalwart veterans of the Dramatic Society are poised to conquer yet another dramatic idiom: their current production sails the luxury ocean liner SS Farndale Avenue into the world of thirties musical comedy, proving that the age of elegance, glamour and enchantment may be a little creaky, but is certainly not yet dead.

Doors open at 7.30pm.

Wheelchair-friendly premises. The entrance is opposite the Co-Op supermarket in Moray Way, RM1 4YD.

Tickets: £10 & £8.

Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders

Dragon Theatre Company’s spring production is the witty and intriguing ‘Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders’ by Derek Webb.

Agatha Crusty is a crime novelist.  She’s also pretty adept at solving crimes.  When her sister-in-law Alice invites her to spend a few days with her in the village of Chortelby, it’s not long before she gets caught up in a series of murders which seem directed at members of the All Saints Village Hall committee.

With many suspects to choose from, and a truly incompetent investigating officer to contend with, Agatha sets about solving the crimes, and there are plenty of laughs as the murders begin to pile up.

While packed full of humour, this is also a genuine murder mystery with an ingenious plot to tax your little grey cells.  Can you solve it?  Come along and find out!

Doors open at 7.30pm.
