History: Launched in 2009 by Kate and Oliver, Deer Shed Festival started life as a small music festival with just under 1000 visitors. Now in its 6th year, the festival has grown to it's full-capacity of 7,500 visitors, and boasts an impressive arts and comedy line-up, as well as science tents, workshops and walkabout acts to keep every member of the family entertained all weekend. Our dedication to theatre (particularly amateur dramatics and local theatre productions) is what has drawn us to Sardines Magazine. We offer small theatrical and dance groups to perform several times over the weekend to potentially huge (and ultimately warm and welcoming) festival audiences. All theatre is PG, and often a firm favourite with the kids.

Deer Shed Festival
Report SocietyDeer Shed Festival is a music, arts, and science family festival set in the beautiful surroundings of North Yorkshire running over the 24th-26th July 2015.
Now in its 6th year, the festival hosts an array of musical talent from across the UK and internationally. This year we have the wonderful John Grant as our Saturday night headliner, Billy Bragg headlining our main stage on Friday and The Unthanks on Sunday. As well as this, the festival offers award winning PG rated comedy for the whole family to enjoy,as well as theatre, spoken word and literary events. This year the festival will be offering over 40 workshops from arts and crafts to music and singing workshops.
As well as our music headliners, we are delighted to welcome Slightly Fat Features, Pappys, Funz and Gamez to headline our arts, whilst theatre groups Tusk Theatre, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Open Umbrella Theatre, and Bird – Forward Theatre Production are doing a few performances each.
We have less than 300 tickets left for this year’s festival! If you have not got yours yet head on over to our ticket page.
