City Lit Drama, Dance & Speech

The Drama Dance and Speech Department was awarded ‘Outstanding’ grade 1 in its last 3 Ofsted inspections. The Department offers classes that are challenging, with clear channels for progression and taught by professionals active in the industry. We offer approximately 500 part time courses, an accredited programme recognised by Drama UK and a Rep Company. The City Lit PROFESSIONAL ACTING DIPLOMA is a 2-year,4-days-a-week, rigorous actor training course that costs about half the price of traditional drama schools and equips students with all the technical and creative skills they need to become working actors.
,The ACCESS TO H.E. DIPLOMA will provide you with a highly structured training programme, accredited by OCN (Open College Network). You will experience a selection of outstanding units of study. The third term will culminate in a full production open to the general public.,The FOUNDATION COURSE is an intensive but part-time year-long Foundation course in Drama, built around your other commitments, with weekly challenging Acting, Voice and Movement classes! The course culminates in a public presentation of scene work and the opportunity to progress further with our accredited training.,C L THEATRE COMPANY


CL Theatre Co was set up to train a company of actors to produce work of the highest professional standard. Its members are made up of a combination of graduates from the advanced/professional provision in the department’s programme, and experienced practitioners, that wish to further their experience. We hold annual auditions in order to find, encourage and support new talent.
