Electro Kabuki
Recommend Supplier Report SupplierFor staged drops and theatrical ‘kabuki’ reveal effects, nothing offers the flawless dependability of Electro Kabuki. And no system is easier to rig.
The modular Electro Kabuki (EK) system is designed and engineered by boffins at Magnet Schultz Ltd, a world leader in the design and development of special-purpose electric locking & holding mechanisms and an authority on electromagnet subassemblies.
With industrial-grade precision engineering at its heart, EK is a proven theatrical reveal system used by performers, artists, troupes, tours and staging crews around the world. It’s a sophisticated and configurable high-tech solution but exceptionally easy-to-use. Misfires, faulty releases, snagged drapes and other nightmares for event organisers are a thing of the past.
There’s almost no limit to the size and scale of the ‘kabuki’ reveals you can manage. Popular configurations range from a simple basic drop with manual push-button firing, to two-stage ‘flop & drop’ effects, multi-string phased drops with synchronised DMX automation and cargo net drops. A new addition to the EK Firing Box range allows four separate drops to be staged and released in any order.
Robust, weatherproof EK modules are the innovative units at the action end of the rig, while firing boxes are the intelligent heart of the system. In between are useful components to make rigging simple and the entire construction instantly effective. Operation couldn’t be simpler – press the fire button and powerful electro-permanent magnets release, so the EK modules drop simultaneously. All of them. Every time. Choose the DMX/Sensing controller for automated firing. Every EK module hook holds up to 50kg but features a unique design that releases cleanly even with no load – so there’s nothing to get hung up about. Rigging is every bit as easy: simply clamp EK modules to a lighting rail or truss and link them with fool proof colour-coded cables. Connect a firing box, check the status indicators, switch to ‘armed’ and the system is ready for action.
Curtain drop systems and theatrical ‘kabuki’ reveals have a chequered history. It seems everyone has a story of a failure that left artists bemused and the stage crew embarrassed. With the Electro Kabuki precision-engineered solution, those days are well and truly over.
EK systems, components and accessories are available directly from Electro Kabuki HQ in the UK, or from approved distributors. Visit the Electro Kabuki website for more details.
