Like everybody in the theatre industry, the Theatrical Traders Association’s (TTA’s) members have been hit extremely hard by the worldwide pandemic in which all theatres and events have either closed, been cancelled or postponed.
With zero demand for costumes, props, scenery, tickets, wigs/make-up – for an incredible fifteen months – and still with no confirmed date on the horizon when amateur theatre might return to any semblance of normality, so far, two of TTA’s costume suppliers have decided to retire early; Dress Circle in Essex and Kent’s Stage Costumes.
