BY PAUL JOHNSON It’s no secret that during the start of April 2022, one of the UK’s top drama schools closed its doors for good. Indeed The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA), which was tutoring 284 students until its closure, was “no longer financially viable.” “The poor legacy financial management had led to the worsening of ALRA’s financial position,” according to Nicola Dandridge, CEO of the OfS (Office for Students).
