‘Awards help us celebrate our achievements – and find shows audiences will love’
Dry-clean those tuxedos and ballgowns and pick out your sparkliest shoes: it’s awards season. As I write this, we’ve recently had the BAFTAs and the Oscars are just around the corner (here in the NHB office we run an annual sweepstake to predict the winners – I’m yet to win, but maybe this is the year…). And in the professional theatre world, the nominees for this year’s Olivier Awards have just been announced ahead of the ceremony in April, with NHB plays such as 2:22 – A Ghost Story by Danny Robins (which just won Best New Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards) and Pride and Prejudice *(sort of) by Isobel McArthur on the shortlists.
